Description
The Terracotta Army is made by the pottery firing process, in which the clay is first molded into a general shape, dried and then fired in a kiln to make it hard. Craftsmen use piling, sticking, pinching and other techniques to carve the details of the features and costumes, and then apply color to them. Some of the Terracotta Army pieces also use a combination of molding, shaping, and carving to ensure that individual differences are harmonized with the overall sculpture, demonstrating a high level of sculptural skill.
