Character Modeling: The character is finely modeled, and the protagonist, based on the Monkey King, is meticulously sculpted from his physical appearance, facial expression to details such as clothing and the golden rod. Through a lot of references to traditional mythological images and modern aesthetic needs, combined with 3D modeling technology, we created a character appearance that meets the public perception and has a unique style. At the same time, we designed a wide variety of movements for the characters, such as combat movements, walking, jumping, etc. Through motion capture technology, we made the character’s movements natural, smooth and expressive.
Scene construction: A combination of real-life scanning and digital modeling is used. The development team spent four years scanning hundreds of temples and monuments across the country, such as the colorful sculptures of the twenty-eight star constellations in the Jade Emperor Temple in Jincheng, Shanxi Province, and the Shuiyue Nunnery in Lantian, Shaanxi Province (the place where the scene of the King of Yellow Eyebrows is taken from), etc., and imported these scenes into the computer in a 1:1 manner. Using the powerful solving capability of the Unreal 5 engine, we processed hundreds of millions of models, restoring architectural details and traces of age, such as the “Diamond Sutra” on the cliff carvings, and the weathered and torn arms of the Buddha statues, etc. We then processed them through the art team’s post-processing to add more details. Then, through the art team’s post-processing, we add mythological atmosphere special effects and light and shadow effects to make the scene more vivid and realistic.
Special effects and screen rendering: Advanced graphic rendering technology is utilized to present high-quality images. In terms of combat special effects, skill releases, spell effects, etc. are all carefully designed, combined with particle effects, light and shadow changes, etc., to show the splendor and shock of mythological battles. In the overall picture rendering, the color tone, light and shadow are adjusted according to the atmosphere of different scenes, such as the bright and vivid of the Mountain of Flowers and Fruits, and the eerie of the Earthly Mansion, etc., to create an immersive visual experience of the game.
Program Development and Optimization: Write complex program code to implement game system functions, including combat mechanics, character growth system, mission system, etc.. During the development process, we constantly optimize the performance to solve problems such as lag and frame dropping, and ensure that the game can run smoothly under different hardware configurations. At the same time, we focus on the stability of the game, and conduct a lot of tests to fix the loopholes and bugs.
