Making molds: Silicone molds are usually used. A physical prototype is first printed out from a 3D model, or a prototype is made by hand using sculpting materials (e.g., oil clay). On the inner surface of the mold, a layer of resin is applied first, followed by laying the fiberglass cloth and compacting it, so that the resin fully saturates the fiberglass cloth, followed by applying another layer of resin, laying another layer of cloth, and repeating the operation until the desired thickness is reached. Afterwards, the resin is allowed to cure in a suitable temperature and humidity environment to form the blank of the panda sculpture.
Demolding and finishing: After the resin has cured, the mold is carefully disassembled to remove the sculpture blank. At this time, the surface of the sculpture may have burrs, uneven places, as well as some defects arising from the production process, using sandpaper, sanding machine and other tools to sand, so that the surface is smooth and even; to fill the holes, gaps, etc. to ensure that the sculpture appearance is intact.
Geometric modeling treatment: According to the design requirements, the sculpture is geometrically cut and spliced. Using professional cutting tools, the sculpture will be cut into predetermined geometric shapes, and then through the process of splicing, fixing, etc., to shape a unique geometric three-dimensional shape, highlighting the creativity and uniqueness of the design.
Surface treatment and coloring: first polish the surface of the sculpture to increase the gloss. Then choose good weather-resistant pigments for coloring, first apply primer to enhance the adhesion of pigments, then according to the characteristics of the panda’s image, detailed depiction of black and white hair color distribution, as well as other decorative colors that may be added. Finally, the top coat is sprayed to protect the colors and enhance the durability and stain resistance of the sculpture.
Production and installation of mounting accessories: according to the installation requirements, produce the appropriate mounting accessories, such as hooks, fixed brackets, etc.. Install the mounting accessories firmly on the sculpture to ensure that it can be safely and stably mounted on the wall or door head.
